Congratulations to Miss Marilyn – The Haven of Grace’s Employee of the Month!

Marilyn serves as a Resident Support Coach at The Haven of Grace, working the overnight shift and doing rounds to make sure that infants and children are sleeping safe and sound.  She helps moms who may go into labor, or have problems sleeping, embracing them with encouragement so that they have a smooth and peaceful evening.

Another employee who worked at The Haven of Grace and has since passed, directed her to our organization.  “She was an earth angel that God sent to lead me here and train me for my position.”

“My favorite thing about working nights at The Haven of Grace is the peace and sereneness,” said Marilyn. “I’m also ecstatic about the AfterCare program for moms who had been part our residential program.  It’s an important safety net to ensure that they avoid the recurrence of homelessness.”

Outside of The Haven of Grace, Marilyn serves as a mentor for women in recovery, transporting them to meetings, directing them to resources, and uplifting them any way she can. “I’ve had family members with similar issues and serve others through my life’s experiences.”

She is a doting grandmother of four, including two who live with her. On Sundays she loves attending church.  Marilyn’s service and devotion to others is part of her personal ministry and an asset to The Haven of Grace!
