Imagine being young, pregnant and homeless…

Finding out you are pregnant can be overwhelming and scary for any woman.  Young, homeless single mothers face the added stress of knowing that 42% of children born into poverty are still in poverty a generation later.  What can they do to make sure that homelessness does not turn into hopelessness?

Now imagine The Haven of Grace…

The Haven of Grace is truly that – a haven.  It’s a place where young mothers find a loving support system, a safe space to navigate a healthy pregnancy and programs that set them up for long-term success.  Young moms entering into our programs become a part of The Haven family and are eligible for services for up to 13 years through our three core programs.

Haven by the Numbers:

  • 80+
    families served in one year
  • 95%
children born at a healthy weight
  • 77%
    residents employed
  • 1700+
    volunteer hours per year

“Living in a shelter was not how I had envisioned my life.  But I lifted my head, did my chores, went to work, and stayed focused.  The staff, house parents and other mothers-to-be became my second family.  The Haven of Grace made me a better person.  They helped me think about new possibilities.  Thank you to all the employees at The Haven of Grace, every organization that partners with them, and those who donate.”
